Hot Tub Start-Up Instructions For Bromine or Chlorine

VOLUME: 3. – FEBRUARY 2009

Spa Start-Up: Brominating Concentrate

First Time Start-Up

  1. Fill your spa with water. If the make-up water is from a well or other  nonmunicipal source, testing prior to filling is recommended.
  2. Super-oxidize the spa with Brominating Concentrate with spa circulation system  turned on. Run all pumps at least one cycle.
  3. Operate the spa circulation system for at least 2 hours.
  4.  Drain, then rinse interior surfaces and refill. Follow draining instructions in  owner’s manual. The reason for doing this is because spas are tested with water  and when they are shipped there is some water in the plumbing. By  super-oxidizing with a sanitizer during a pre-fill, you lessen the opportunity to contaminate the water with bacteria.

Refill Guide

  1. Adjust pH (7.2-7.6), total alkalinity (80-120 ppm) and calcium hardness (100-200 ppm).
  2. Apply Brominating Concentrate following label directions. Establish proper bromine residual of 3-6 ppm.

Daily Care

  • If the hot tub is used daily Bromine Concentrate must be added after use, or at the end of the day.
  •  If the hot tub is not used daily – Bromine Concentrate should be added every 3rd day.

Weekly Care

  • Add Teddy Bear Stain and Scale Control.
  • Apply Teddy Bear Water Clarifier.
  • Test the pH. Acceptable range is 7.2-7.6. Ideal range is 7.4-7.6.
  • Test total alkalinity of the water. Proper range is 80-120 ppm.

Monthly Care

  • Test your water – Bring a sample to Teddy Bear Pools & Spas for analysis.
  • Chemically clean your filter with Bear Strip Filter Cleaner.

As Needed

  • Drain, clean, polish and refill based on usage.
  •  If foaming occurs use Teddy Bear Anti-Foam.

We had the same problem. The game commissioner advised us to take down all feeders. In order to coexist with the bear, you should not offer your territory as a food source. It's not fair to the bear as they will begin to recognize humans as meal providers. Clearly, this is a problem both for bear and people.

If you absolutely refuse to take down the feeders during the spring months when the bears' food is more scarce, scatter some moth balls around. Bear are repelled by the scent.

Please search black bear attacks and then decide if you want to encourage the bear to come around.

To make a bear cake – make a round cake for the head and use cupcakes or Hostess snowballs for the ears… Of course decorate with chocolate frosting.

The dollar tree usually has teddy bears and party favors and decorating items.

If you are on a budget the cake will fit in just fine PLUS you have the memory of "you" baking his first cake….

Good Luck & Kiss the B-Day boy for us all

Have you asked if you could donate them to the pediatric floor of a local hospital? What about giving them to an organization that helps children with disabilities or underprivileged kids? Or even giving them to a home for elderly people. They would probably appreciate how precious the bears are.

Dogs are smart. They know better than to show fear. Anything that shows fear or weakness in nature is toast. The situation forces the dogs to be submissive and allows the bears to toy with them. It’s very simple.
Hippies don’t survive either…unless you compare them with parasites, which has indeed proven to be an effecient survival tactic.
I don’t have any fancy degree or militia club membership tdicorti. Why don’t you go back to your couch.

  8. coolduck1990 says:

Be careful. If the stud is too small or the ear is too thick, it will ruin the earrings. My suggestion? If you are going to do it, stick the ears with a needle first and twist them enough that there is a big enough hole in the ears for the stud to slide in.

  9. tdicorti says:

so many angry pissy people posting comments! Please just go back to your militias and club houses with confedeerate flags on the wall. Oh, and don’t forget to take you official professor dipshit degrees with you.

  10. tiffibean13 says:

1:40 he’s like “I’m gonna hug you, and you will like it!”

  11. tdicorti says:

sorry, typo. *Confederate*. Now hurry and go bag yourself a possum or whatever else hillbillies eat before the day is over. Otherwise ma might have to fry up some shoe leather again! And don’t forget to scrub your *confederate* flag before your clan meeting.

  12. uuhi really need to find somebody who clicks with me

  13. Miskit says:

The front way is 330 to 18 through Running Springs. The back way is 38 to 18 through Forest Falls.

Just so you know, chains are required on the 38 as well.

If you get an early start, the most direct way is the fastest. Otherwise, you might want to go via 38.

However, there is one route you didn't mention. If you take 15 north and take the Bear Valley cutoff to Lucerne Valley, you can avoid a lot of the mountain driving. It's definitely longer, but a good alternate on crazy weekends like this one.

EVERYONE wants to get on the mountain this weekend. I would wait a week.

  14. Look Like he wanted to pet those bears hahahaha

  15. Joel G says:

In a bull market more people want to buy than sell.

In a bear market more people want to sell than buy.

Rights (to buy at a set price), at times, are issued as a perk. It is up to the holder to decide when he/she wants to buy. Any forward looking company expects its stock to rise eventually.

  16. Shounna says:

Well, you can go to a build-a-bear workshop store and bring your hello kitty bear to the store, and ask for a paw pass. Then, just look at stuff and pretend your gonna buy something. (Who knows maybe you will get something!) Then go home, and use the paw pass code. When you select your bear, select your hello kitty one. Also, the paw pass is good for up to 4 more bears after you enter in your hello kitty! Or you can go to a buid-a-bear workshop and ask for a free paw pass, but still bring your hello kitty bear, and tell them your problem. I would do the first one because the second idea might not work. Hope I can help!
