A long-term study that shows changes in the habitats of polar bears in response to changing sea ice conditions in the southern Beaufort Sea, Alaska, showed that the polar bear is literally “evicted” from its land due to climate change.
Karyn Rode, a biologist who studies polar bears with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Anchorage, Alaska, said that data collected between 1979 and 2005 show that polar bears have been spotted more often on land and at sea open, and less frequently on the ice during the fall. This means that there is a greater chance of interaction with humans. The paper was published in the December issue of Arctic, the journal Arctic Institute of North America.
Polar bears have been observed for over 27 years, and the same moment were also recorded ice conditions. The data showed that when ice conditions have changed, the bears found in different habitats to survive. Between 1979 and 1987, 12% of sightings were made in areas without ice. Between 1997 and 2005 however, 90% of sightings occurred in such areas.
When the bears were seen, were more often observed on the open sea and on land on sea ice. At the same time, changes were observed in the ice, suggesting that these observations are linked.
Rode said. Furthermore, the number of bears sighted in increasing increased from 138 bears in 1979-1987, to 271 between 1988 and 1996, and finally to 468 bears between 1997 and 2005. Rode warns that this study was not designed to estimate the number of bears in the area. In fact the data were drawn from studies made to trace the migratory routes of whales in Greenland, not to observe polar bears. Therefore you can imagine that the bears are becoming increasingly frequent in the waters off the coast of southern Beaufort Sea, where it should be. According to Rode
The bears use the area of land in recent years because their preferred habitat, sea ice is no longer available [...] this shows that there was a shift of habitat.
In the region of the Beaufort Sea, there was less ice in 2005 compared to the end of the study began in 1979. The days of summer when the ice melts increased by 13 days per decade. This is one of the reasons for the rapid retreat of ice from the region, which provides a thicker and more stable platform for poaching.

Well said, you’re right.
Polar bear become less and less.
One of the reason is toxic chemicals in household daily use products such shampoo, bath and body, facial cream, household cleaner and so forth.
Therefore, daily use products are the main killer for human and Polar bear.
Thanks for a nice article.
