I decided in my blog, supporting various causes related to environmental conservation.
I chose as the first cause to support World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to help protect polar bears. If you wonder why the Polar Bear? I would like to tell you how I came to that. I have read on several occasions, that climate change is destroying the habitat of the Polar Bear in the Arctic Ocean and at this rate by the year 2050 could extinguish the species. Do you need more reason?
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is the largest independent conservation organization in the world and its primary mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature .
“The evidence is increasingly evident on the crisis affecting many polar bear populations because of the disappearance of their habitat, hunting and intensive pressure from industrial development, estimated in a statement Peter Ewins, director WWF-Canada.
The Arctic polar bear (Ursus maritimus) has become an iconic symbol of the victims affected by loss of habitat due to climate change. Classified as an endangered species by the Endangered Species Act of the United States, the polar bear could be extinguished for the next century if warming trends continue in the Arctic at the same speed.
The polar bear is listed as “Ten species to be monitored in 2010,” the WWF.
“We have a unique opportunity to prevent some of the world’s most magnificent animals will become extinct,” said Dr. Sybille Klenzendorf, Director of WWF’s Species Conservation. The slogan of the WWF’s “for a living planet” (for a living planet.) You are part of the planet. Would you like to help to support World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the protection of Polar Bears?
You have the opportunity, NOW!

Yeah, I’d read and heard the very same thing on Television too… even saw a video supposedly shot this winter with a small cub floating on a chunk of ice. Turns out, however, after doing the research Polar Bears are actually growing more numerous and they have been known to swim over 500 miles of open ocean between icebergs – even before “Global Warming.” Those tracking transmitters are very informative.
However, there are some creatures that are seriously in jeopardy at this time. Namely, sea creatures in the Atlantic and the humans who feed upon them in a growing food shortage brought on by biofuels and restrictions upon drilling on land. Were we able to drill upon land, we wouldn’t have to risk losing half of the world’s food supply to oil contamination, grow fuel instead of food, or figure out how to clean up impossible messes at sea.
Polar bear and also mankind are in crisis.
Did you know that household products which we use everyday
